This week’s challenge at I Heart Faces is “Innocent Wonder”. My first thought upon hearing the word innocent is always a sweet new baby… and I just happen to have two wonderful friends, Tegan and Dane, that recently had a beautiful baby girl, Reagan. I was so happy when Tegan asked if I would do their newborn photos. I have been wanting to get my hands on a newborn baby for photos for quite some time now (I also happen to have a HUGE soft spot for baby girls). What an experience! Reagan is 4 weeks old and quite the inquisitive one already. Here she is reaching for the camera during our shoot. She wanted nothing to do with sleeping for me! haha Isn’t she just beautiful!

The photo challenge over at I Heart Faces this week is “Best Face Photo of 2010″. As I was going through all of the photos I have taken this past year, this particular one caught my attention, partly because the focus is all about her face, but also because I think it truly captures her beauty in the most simple way. Even as I am writing this, I am having the hardest time not changing it to another photo from the same session. Little Lilly was so adorable and her photo session was by far one of my favorites this past year. (Oh and a quick Happy Birthday to Lilly’s mommy, Trista!)

Trista and David were referred to me by Rama and also chose to do their shoot at Floyd Lamb State Park. We met up this past Sunday, and I instantly fell in love with their daughter, Little L. I have such a soft spot for baby girls, and she is a girl after my own heart! Big blue eyes, cute pouty lips and super girly (she even had bright pink toenails!). You don’t know how excited I was when Trista asked if it was alright to bring some props and mentioned tutus and flower headbands. Little L was so pleasant throughout the entire shoot. Even when she was getting sleepy near the end, there were no tears in sight. And of course, I know where she gets her sweet demeanor… mom and dad were just as nice and super sweet. I really enjoyed meeting their family, and Trista, feel free to drop Little L off to play any time! Here is a little sneak peek for the family:
This has to be my favorite shoot yet (possibly because it was my first official!). Rama was looking to have some photos taken of her and her son to send to her husband who is currently away with the military and their family. We met up at Floyd Lamb State Park here in Las Vegas, which was the absolute perfect setting. Little B was a little fussy at first… ok, maybe almost the first hour haha. But we worked with it, and in the end one of my favorite photos of the whole session actually turned out to be of him crying. I like to call this, “Don’t cry over spilled lemons.”

Overall though, I think it turned out to be a really great day, and we got so many great photos (I was really worried we wouldn’t at first!) that it was hard to decide which ones to post on here. Here are a few more of my favorites. I was so happy to hear that Rama, her husband and all of her family really love the photos!

As I mentioned a little while ago, I have been helping out my friend, Aimee, watching her daughter for her until she can find a regular sitter while she is at work. This affords me the opportunity to take photos of the sweetest, chubbiest baby girl. She is just beyond adorable and so, so precious!
Also, if you happen to be looking for flower clips, I purchased the cream one from B. Eloise Designs and won the purple dupioni clip from Bird Cage Designs as part of a giveaway. Be sure to check them out; they have a lot of other really great products as well (some of which you may see in future photo postings)!
